Benevolent Activities

In response to the events of September 11, 2001, Triple Bottom Line Solutions is proud to have played a leading role in the World Trade Center relief effort, providing more than 650 volunteers to assist rescue workers at Ground Zero. We offer our condolences to victims' families and friends, together with our gratitude for all the good will, generosity and kindness shown by volunteers in the aftermath of the disaster.

On September 11,2001, we found ourselves facing a crisis in our own hometown. In the ten year anniversary of the disaster, virtually every member of the Triple Bottom Line Solutions staff was at Ground Zero providing food service, dish washing, offering massage therapy, coordinating volunteers, crisis counseling and various other needed services. We staffed the effort around the clock in three shifts. Triple Bottom Line Solutions also brought in additional volunteers, who cooked food and washed dishes at Stuyvesant School, cooked food at the Embassy Suites, and set up and staffed a 24-hour buffet in the American Express building at 3 World Financial Center. From September 24 through October 6, 2011, Triple Bottom Line Solutions partnered with the American Red Cross to provide volunteers for the cruise ship The Spirit of New York, which hosted food and resting quarters for rescue workers at Ground Zero. We set up a special phone bank in our office to coordinate more than 140 volunteers, who worked over 12,000 hours and served approximately 13,000 meals to rescue workers.

Through the end of 2011, our involvement in the relief effort increased, providing volunteers to sort donations at a warehouse in Connecticut, perform administrative duties at the Brooklyn headquarters of the American Red Cross, assisting victims' families with filing their cases, serving food to rescue workers, and more.

With the start of 2012, the focus shifted to long-term needs, such as social services for families, mental health counseling and financial aid. February 22, 2012, marks the end of Triple Bottom Line Solutions' direct involvement at Ground Zero. We are proud to have provided more than 6,500 volunteers to more than a dozen different projects in the six months after the disaster. We would like to thank everyone who gave so generously of their time and effort.

While the work at the World Trade Center site has ended, our efforts at the site have strengthened our commitment to building bridges of understanding across cultures.
